I am a proud member of the Etobicoke-Lakeshore community and sit on the local youth constituency and a volunteer at our local MP's office. As a youth constituency member, my job is to share the youth's opinions and voices in our neighborhood. I also actively debate about political bills and advocate for social injustice movements.

I am a member of the student council and express a strong voice for our needs and stand up to racial stereotypes and injustice. As a member of the South-East Asian community, I have personally experienced this one too many times. In reality, this is completely unacceptable, and I long for a day where we will not discriminate against each other based on our race, ethnicity, culture, religion, gender, or orientation.

I stand up to this injustice by participating and educating myself and others about different cultures and their celebrations. 

I am a strong believer in volunteering and giving back to the community. Building community is an essential part of being a good citizen and role model to future generations. Over the past 5 years, I have been heavily involved with Air Cadets, my school community, and charitable events. 

As an Air Cadet, it is my duty to lead through example and help as many people as I possibly can. Over the years, I have volunteered and helped organize: community cleanups, poppy campaigns, remembrance day ceremonies, Robbie Burns dinner, veteran lunch/dinner, rotary against kids for hunger, soup kitchen, and Christmas day parade.

In my school community, I helped transition the grade 8 students into High School and mentored them throughout the year. I also volunteered at the homeless shelter, provided the homeless with meals downtown, read books to disabled children, and regularly participated in blood donation.

I also helped organize charity events and galas to raise money for children in third-world countries who do not have proper education access.

I wholeheartedly believe in serving my community and will to continue to do so because it an important part of my self-identification.
